Coming up with a concept...

Having trouble coming up with a thesis concept that I feel very passionate about, and that I could continue with for a year.

Some ideas: (that I dont think I will pursue)
- movie design package - ( title sequence, trailers, print ads, website, dvd cover/menu, logo..)
- working/ building on a previous project, an interactive landscape/narrative;
- http://a.parsons.edu/~lamorte/core3/main.html

"Some questions to consider..."
- Rees
  • Where do my passions lie? - Creating emotionally moving visual pieces; I like creating graphics that contain references to nature and science fiction, and the mysteriousness of both. I like creating things that are beautiful, and at the same time eerie. I think that my work is influenced a lot by my dreams, which are usually very vivid and horrific (as well as strange, as most dreams are..) and/or cinematic; (I can wake up with a scene from my dreams still fresh in my mind which make me think, " wow, that was a beautiful scene from a Hollywood movie")

  • What am I most interested in?
- I am most interested in motion graphics or broadcast design and screen based graphics. I am interested in creating things that are viewed as strange or eerie and beautiful.

  • When I create, what do I enjoy about the process and what do I take pleasure in thinking about regarding the process?
- I enjoy the emotions that a piece of work I create can evoke, it like building something up more and more down to the finest detail. I enjoy starting something, not always having a clear idea of what I am creating. I like to experiment, and take steps, finessing a graphic or video piece as i go on. Sometimes ill go into photoshop, and just start playing around, and come up with an idea midway, and build on that idea further.

  • Who would I like my audience to be?
- I would like my audience range to be large. I think one of the reasons I am most interested in broadcast design is that a piece of work can be seen, and will be seen, by many many people; anyone who watches tv.
In the end, I think I would like my audience to be within the ages of 12-50 years
